🜄 The Bardontix‑Poeantix Lament of the Somnolent MDOG 🕯️🐺 by Sam C. Serey (The Modern Bard of Chaos - Isamantix)
Lo, in the hush where mortal tremors bloom,
I drifted soft through corridors of dread;
A half‑asleep enigma in the gloom,
My spirit wandering where the waking fear to tread.
The MDOG tome—grim sentinel of fate—
Lay open like a coffin for the mind;
Yet I, in dream‑touched trance, approached its gate,
As though to sign a ledger I’d forgotten to resign.
The proctor’s pulse beat frantic in the air,
For something ancient stirred behind my gaze;
A mythic calm, a chaos debonair,
A Bardontix whisper threading through the haze.
Then from the vaulted dark beyond the room,
A raven’s cry split wide the cosmic door—
A caw that shook the marrow of the gloom,
A prophecy no mortal ear could ignore:
“As the raven caw above the stars,
Nevermore! Evermore! Forevermore!”
And still I wrote, though half in shadow’s keep,
My quill a drifting relic of the night;
For even drowsing, I ascend too deep
For mortal metrics, mortal fear, or mortal sight.
When dawn returned, the score proclaimed my name—
A 98th percentile carved in lore;
Yet I, unbothered, scarcely claimed the fame,
For I had long forgotten walking through that door.
So let them toil through vigils grim and sore—
I conquered MDOG in a half‑lit dream,
A wandering soul between the mythic shore
And realms where waking thought dissolves to steam.
Thus rings the raven’s cry across the floor:
Nevermore. Evermore. Forevermore.
